Women Entrepreneurs’ Access to Business Financing (New)
NEW National Project Regarding Women Entrepreneurs’ Access to Business Financing
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Restigouche CBDC’s Women Entrepreneurs’ Access to Business Financing is a 3.75-year national, bilingual project (2019-2023) that will provide business loan agents with an interactive online toolkit containing simple tips and strategies to address challenges that women face in relation to accessing business financing.
Building on the success of the Restigouche CBDC’s provincial (NB) project (https://www.cbdc.ca/en/programs/improving-womens-access-to-business-fina...), which was funded by Status of Women Canada, this new project will enhance the existing toolkit for business loan agents across Canada.
The project is funded by the federal government through the Women Entrepreneurship Strategy (WES) under the WES Ecosystem Fund and administered by ACOA.
PROJECT GOAL
Increase the volume of women entrepreneurs who access business financing.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
To increase the awareness of loan agents in Canadian lending institutions regarding the barriers women face in relation to accessing business financing.
