Hire For Talent
From 2015 - 2018, the Restigouche CBDC along with key partners, developed Hire for Talent, a campaign aimed to increase employer awareness about how people with disabilities are a talented part of the workforce.
The campaign reached over 77,000 employers across Canada.
New Project Description
This new national project (2019–2022) will build on the existing Hire for Talent campaign by holding workshops across Canada to help workplaces become more inclusive. Over 900 employers have attended sessions so far. In collaboration with key partners, Hire for Talent has also launched new tools, resources, and videos.
As well, Hire for Talent is conducting a national research study which seeks to contribute new data related to the ongoing challenges, best practices, and emerging trends surrounding disability and the workplace in Canada.
As part of this study, Hire for Talent is organizing employer focus groups and delivering two national surveys, reaching over 800 small and medium size businesses and people with lived experience with disability.
Up to now, the new campaign has reached over 75,000 employers in Canada.
Creating Inclusive Workplaces During COVID-19
In September 2020, the Restigouche CBDC was awarded a short-term project to create employer awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion during the pandemic. New resources were created to help make workplaces more inclusive and accessible during COVID-19.
In addition, 467 programs and funding options to help support businesses were added to the Hire for Talent website. 62,222 employers visited the new COVID-19 tools on the Website.
This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
