Caring Without Limits: The Path to Clinique Pure Détente
Cinthia Boudreau has turned her dream of providing quality care for her clients' physical and mental health into a reality with her business Clinique Pure Détente.
“After several years of thinking it over, I felt the need to work in an environment where I could take the time to fully care for each person, without the pressures of a traditional job,” she said.
After spending more than 20 years in the fields of counselling and intervention, Cinthia made the move to entrepreneurship, offering wellness services from her Petit-Rocher home with the help of the CBDC’s Self Employment Benefit Program for Persons with a Disability (SEB-PWD).
“I decided to make a big career change to find more fulfilment in a field I’m truly passionate about,” she said.
The SEB-PWD program allowed Cinthia to further develop her business. She began working and building a clientele while continuing to study part-time to offer the best services possible.
“I also received valuable support that helped me structure my entrepreneurial journey, step by step,” she said.
As a naturopathic therapist, Cinthia offers a host of services including foot reflexology, specialized foot care for diabetics, light therapy sessions and Indian head massage. The services aim to improve people’s physical and mental health from the comfort of her serene home, or at the client’s home if they’re unable to travel to her.
“My approach is focused on holistic wellness, guiding clients toward mind-body balance through healthy living, including diet and stress management,” she said.
Being her own boss has allowed Cinthia the freedom to do what’s best for her clients.
“If I feel a client needs more time to relax or talk, I can extend the session without feeling pressured by the clock. This allows me to offer a more personalized service and build a trusting relationship with them,” she said.
It also allows her to take her own well-being into account, prioritizing a healthy work-life balance.
Part of that balance is giving back to the community. She offers volunteer animal therapy with her dog at the local hospital and care homes.
But Cinthia says entrepreneurship also comes with the challenges. It requires organization and discipline to handle the business side, from attracting clients to accounting.
The challenges, and her success as a woman entrepreneur, is what make the journey so rewarding.
“It hasn’t always been easy, but each challenge I’ve faced has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally,” she said. “I’m proud to inspire other women to pursue their dreams and assert themselves in areas where they can make a difference.”
As for the future, Cinthia says she will seek new training opportunities and methods to continue offering the best possible care to her clients, and to continue working on future projects that are close to her heart.
“My goal is to continue creating a positive impact in my community by offering services that improve everyone’s health and well-being.”
