As part of a national initiative created by and for the network, these courses offer a unique opportunity to learn with peers who share your professional reality, regardless of the language dynamics in your region.
Group Language Courses: Learn and Grow Together
Join our interactive group courses and learn alongside colleagues from Community Futures and CBDCs offices across Canada. These courses focus on acquiring essential language skills specific to the Community Futures and CBDCs sector through engaging activities and realistic scenarios, while building new connections with people you might not meet in your day‑to‑day work.
These group courses are structured to fit into busy schedules and to offer strong value in terms of time, instruction, and practice, making them a practical option for offices that wish to encourage French learning among their staff.
Details:
- Small groups for a supportive and interactive learning environment.
- 20 sessions of 1.25 hours each, twice a week for 10 weeks, for a total of 25 hours of instruction.
- $850 CAD per participant for the complete 10-week course.
- Three sessions per year: Spring, Fall, and Winter

Conversation Groups: Practice with Real People
For intermediate to advanced learners who want more occasions to speak French, Danika Leclair will lead conversation groups with colleagues from the Community Futures and CBDCs network. Less formal than standard French classes, these discussion groups help participants reach a new level by rebuilding confidence and fluency in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Under Danika’s guidance, each session encourages balanced participation, active listening, and open discussion of the real‑life challenges that arise when communicating in a second language. Participants connect with peers from across the country, share experiences from similar professional contexts, and strengthen their ability to interact spontaneously in French.

- Medium group to build your confidence with peers.

Language Coaching: Enhance Your Professional French
Our one‑on‑one language coaching is designed for intermediate to advanced employees who need personalized support or who have already taken courses or group discussions and want to deepen their skills in a professional context. Coaching is ideal for staff whose roles require them to use French in specific, targeted situations.
This coaching service is for learning and development purposes and does not replace professional services such as translation, marketing expertise, or presentation consulting.

- Three packages:
- 10 hours @ $775
- 20 hours @ $1,480
- 30 hours @ $2,100
- Writing documents and emails, focusing on clear and professional correspondence in French.
- Simulating meetings and networking situations with French‑speaking clients.
- Preparing and delivering bilingual presentations that are adapted to your audience.
- Flexible schedules adapted to your availability, offered “à la carte” so you can choose the number of sessions that suits your needs.

Levels Offered
We cater to various proficiency levels, aligned with the NCLC (Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens) and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) standards.
- A1 (NCLC 1-2): Basic user. Learn to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases to satisfy concrete needs.
- A2 (NCLC 3): Basic user. Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to common topics such as personal and family information, shopping, local geography, and employment.
- A2 (NCLC 4): Basic user. Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities.
- B1 (NCLC 5-6): Independent user. Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered at work, or during leisure activities. You'll be able to deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling or working in a French-speaking area.
