NB Association of CBDCs Honours Youth Entrepreneur and Female Entrepreneur at Ninth Annual Provincial Entrepreneurial Gala in Campbellton

Campbellton, NB – Two winners were announced at the New Brunswick Association of Community Business Development Corporations (CBDCs) Provincial Entrepreneurial Gala held at the Quality Hotel & Conference Centre on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Madelaine Caissie of Sparkle LifeStyle & MediSpa took home the coveted Youth Entrepreneur Award, while Tina Lagacé-Rivard, Cabinet Juridique Lagacé-Rivard Law Office was named Female Entrepreneur of the Year.

Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Madelaine Caissie is the owner of Sparkle LifeStyle & MediSpa. Founded in 2012, Sparkle LifeStyle & MediSpa is the first of its kind in Moncton, NB. Focussed on empowering women to take charge of their health and wellness, their elite services such as body contouring, skin tightening, nutrition and fitness coaching, and most recently vaginal rejuvenation and tattoo removal are rendered by 350 clients a month. Their team has exclusive state-of-the-art technology and consists of affiliated doctors, registered nurses, dieticians, nutritionists and medical estheticians. Their collaborative approach allows for drastic improvements in the lives of their clients.
Female Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Tina Lagacé-Rivard is the owner and operator of the Cabinet Juridique Lagacé-Rivard Law Office located in Drummond, NB. Her law office provides legal services in both official languages to Grand Falls area and beyond. Her clientele is varied and her firm provides expertise in areas of law such as real estate, family law, civil litigation, insurance claims, wills and estates as well as corporate and commercial. The mission of the Law Office is to always treat everyone in the best way humanly possible and to offer individualized and specialized services to all clients.
“CBDCs are very well known and regarded in their communities and that is why we continue to strive in lending and investment activity here in the New Brunswick and throughout Atlantic Canada. For the past thirty years, CBDCs have been and will continue to be the player of choice in economic development,” said Dale Giberson, President, NB Association of CBDCs.
About New Brunswick CBDCs
The 10 CBDCs in New Brunswick are part of a vast network of independent not-for-profit businesses that work in partnership with the different levels of government in order to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. The CBDC offices, located in the province's rural communities, facilitate business development in their respective regions. Their actions help in the creation of new businesses as well as the expansion and modernization of existing businesses, by offering financing, management training and counseling.
About the Women in Business Initiative
Through the financial support offered by the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, the New Brunswick Association of CBDCs provides services to business women through the Women in Business Initiative (WBI). The WBI is managed by development officers who work directly with women business owners. These officers provide personal support to women entrepreneurs who live in rural and urban areas, and ensure they have access to the products and services they need to grow their business.
