Local businesses receive recognition!
News Release
Local businesses receive recognition!
Since 2015, the Business Award of Distinction has been an important recognition of excellence in business for Community Business Development Corporations’ (CBDC) clients. Due to the pandemic last year, the Atlantic Association of CBDCs (AACBDC) was unable to offer the award, so the organization is delighted to provide it again this year. Starting and running a successful business is difficult at the best of times, and businesses that have survived throughout these challenging times are exceptional and certainly deserving of recognition.
This year, in the French-speaking category, the CBDC Business Award of Distinction winner is Émilie LeBlanc et Patrick Gauvin of Cielo Glamping Maritime, located in Shippagan, NB, a client of CBDC Péninsule acadienne. And in the English-speaking category, it is Sascha Boulet-Devost of Capture Therapeutics by PhysioFirst with locations in Grand Falls and Woodstock, NB, and Truro, NS, a client of CBDC Victoria Madawaska-South.
The Business Award of Distinction runners up are:
Sheila Arsenault of Treetop Haven in Albany, PE
Joanne Dooley-Butler and Emma Dooley, a mother-daughter team, run Funky Junk Home Décor in Conception Bay South, NL
Shivani Dhamija, the owner of Shivani’s Kitchen, providing authentic Indian spice blends and ready-made sauces from Windsor, NS
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we could not be in person today. However, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating our Business Award of Distinction winners online and join us in supporting local small businesses in your community during this Small Business Week.
