A boutique tour boat company, Coastal Connections Ltd. specialises in educational cruises that connect participants to the ocean world through hands-on experience. The only company of its kind in Newfoundland and Labrador, they also offer a sunset cruise and a sustainable fishing program where you can catch your own supper.

Having a unique business that offers a range of services requires support, and Coastal Connections Ltd. is particularly happy to have CBDC on its side. “Working with the staff at CBDC Eastern Initiatives is a wonderful experience. They really care about finding ways to help our business be a success,” said company President Jan Negrijn.

With this array of service comes a variety of customers. Working collaboratively with other groups through their affiliation with the Oceans Learning Partnership, Coastal Connections Ltd. caters to K-12 students. They also serve families with young children, seniors, youth groups as well as scientists who use their vessel for research.

Negrijn enjoys the educational aspect of working with people, especially children and youth. He said, “Seeing their wonder and curiosity aroused as they experience the ocean world first-hand and hearing their comments as they view the natural world from a different perspective after their Coastal Connections experiences make it all worthwhile.”
