Job Purpose:  During this 14 week work placement, the post-secondary student will help raise CBDC Yarmouth’s profile through various promotional activities.  This will increase our ability to help small businesses in our area access our programs – Financing, Training, Advice.​

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  The Marketing Intern will perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to the following:

• Create and implement a marketing plan for the CBDC Yarmouth which considers the CBDC Yarmouth’s strategic plan.
• Compose press releases and other communication materials.
• Create marketing strategies.
• Prepare organizational content, including publications, reports and video success stories.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Self-motivated, goal-oriented person who is a collaborative and strategic thinker.
• Skilled in social media management and executing communications strategies.
• Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to develop and communicate clear, consistent messages in a variety of digital and print media, to various audiences.
• Demonstrated experience with some or all of the following: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, and internet research.
• Demonstrated experience with digital content production (writing, design, photo/video editing, etc.) is an asset.
• Attention to detail and solid planning when approaching a project.
• Excellent proof reading and editing skills.
• Bilingualism in French and English will be an asset.

Flexibility: The role is based on site in our Yarmouth Office however flexibility on timing of hours is possible.

Qualifications and Education:  Post-secondary education in public relation, communications, marketing.
