EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Digby-Clare CBDC
The Digby-Clare CBDC is a not-for-profit organization providing innovative financial assistance, business counselling, training and development to aspiring
entrepreneurs and existing businesses with the goal of stimulating the local economy and increasing the number of permanent jobs in the area.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is accountable for the leadership and direction of the Corporation. Managing an annual operating budget
of approximately $400k and an asset portfolio in excess of $4 million, the Executive Director is responsible for managing the Corporations risk, including the
identification of potential risk and the development of risk mitigation processes.
He/she is also responsible for the development and implementation of the Corporations Strategic Plan and for liaising with government partners/agencies and the private sector.
Required Skills & Background
This is an essential position within our community and the Board is seeking a knowledgeable, motivated and conscientious individual with demonstrated skills &
competencies to lead the corporation.
- Strong leadership, managerial and decision-making capabilities;
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills;
- Sound knowledge of finance, lending, marketing, human resources, policy
- development and governance processes;
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the Digby-Clare business environment and
- the challenges of fostering economic development in our community;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with English and
- French an asset.
The knowledge and experience required of the position is normally acquired through the completion of a university degree in Business Administration or
Economics, along with five to seven years’ experience in managerial and leadership positions.
