Cormier’s Five Island Clams Ltd.
Oswald Cormier has been in the clam business for over 30 years. "I started in the business by digging clams myself." The clam season runs from the first week in May through until the end of October. The Cormier Clam Factory supplies clams to restaurants in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the United States. The factory employs over 30 employees from the local area.
Every summer the factory supplies clams for the local Clam Festival. "It has been a tradition we wouldn't think of missing. It is a time when local people and travelers come together to enjoy the delicious cuisine of the sea."
