CHALEUR MY HOME, MY FUTURE! 10th Edition  was held at the Gowan Brae Golf & Country Club on March 22nd & 23rd , 2013 in Bathurst. This year, 18 young adults participated in this two-day event where they had the occasion to rediscover our region’s potential and the great opportunities it has to offer. The program generally targets individuals who are from the Chaleur region and are currently enrolled in their last years of post-secondary studies.

Jean-Yves Hachey from Jean-Yves H. Construction in Tremblay is the 2012 Young Entrepreneur of the Year, presented by CBDC Chaleur. This business is in operation since April 2009. Jean-Yves H. Construction employs four full time employees and expertise in the fields of general construction, residential construction, doors and windows installment, siding installment, interior and exterior finishing and residential renovation.

July 2012 - 2nd Annual CBDC Chaleur Young Entrepreneurs Golf Tournament

The 2nd Annual CBDC Chaleur Young Entrepreneurs Golf Tournament was held July 11th, 2012 at the Gowan Brae Golf & Country Club in Bathurst. It was an opportunity for young entrepreneurs of the region to network with local business people and entrepreneurs. During that day CBDC Chaleur was able to collect $2,091.20 in proceeds. The Tournament has donated that full amount to the Youth Entrepreneurship Camps for the Chaleur region.

2012 Atlantic Innovation Fund Competitive Round

On May 22, 2012, the Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Minister of State for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and La Francophonie, announced the launch of the next competitive round of funding under the Agency’s Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF).
AIF supports R&D proposals that lead to the development of new products, processes and services that can be successfully introduced into the marketplace and contribute to economic growth in Atlantic Canada.
I would like to advise you that the deadlines for the AIF’s competitive round for 2012 have been set. Mandatory letters of Intent should be submitted by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, followed by a project proposal by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, to apply for funding.

Naomi Savoie from Creative Ostentation is the 2011 Young Entrepreneur of the Year, presented by CBDC Chaleur. Her business specializes in interior decorating and design, color consultation, wedding and birthday cakes, painted murals, as well as seasonal window painting. Mrs. Savoie has been in business since 2008 and operates from her home located at 305 Horizon Street in Beresford.

2011 Annual General Meeting and Conference
